Frequently Asked QuestionsIs there an age limit? No. I do not have experience of working with children or couples/families. How long does a session last? Each session lasts for 50 minutes (an EMDR session may last longer). We meet on the same day/evening and at the same time every session. The initial consultation, however, will last between an hour and hour-and-a-half and provides an opportunity to discuss your reasons for seeking help at this time. Are you registered? I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and I adhere to the ethical code of practise that governs all of their member organisations (this includes the London Centre for Psychotherapy). I am not registered with BUPA or any of the health insurance companies. How do I contact you to arrange an intial consultation? You can either telephone me (Tel. 020 8854 1617) or e-mail me (info@andrewkilburnpsychotherapy.co.uk) and I will respond as soon as I am able. We will then arrange an initial appointment at which you can discuss your concerns. What is the cost of therapy? My usual fee is £55 per session, a therapy session lasting for 50 minutes. However, I charge a fee of £80 for the initial assessment consultation, which takes around 90 minutes. The issue of professional fee will be discussed at the first appointment. Occasionally I can take someone who cannot afford a standard fee but can pay a reduced fee of £40 per session. This is dependent on being able to attend during the day. |
